Thais, the Brazilian mermaid I'm currently coaching, looks like she is crying underwater...

But in actuality this is air coming out of the eyes every time she equalizes. Pretty neat what the human body does underwater :)

Freediving.Life

Received these kind words today, a review from Josh from Canada who was in Dahab about a week ago for his level one freediving course and Freediving Coaching / Training.

"I came to Dahab looking for a laid back rest from traveling, I was met with a huge freediving family community. I decided to try freediving to see if I could improve my air consumption on open circuit scuba, what I learned was much more.

I was referred to Renee by several people in Dahab we met for coffee, and I could instantly see how much passion she had for the sport. Renee is extremely dedicated, and literally lives to dive.

Over four days of training and coaching I learned the different disciplines of freediving, how to practice breath hold techniques, how to stretch and get in the proper frame of mind to dive, physiology behind breathe hold and so much more than any text and article could offer.

What I enjoyed most was how professional the coaching was delivered in such a laid back relaxed comfortable space. Whether you want to Improve technique, gain depth, overcome your fears, Renee will safely provide and environment where you can challenge your self and grow as a person and a diver."

Thank you, Josh! Hope to see you again soon in Dahab :)

Some of my fav action shots of Josh during his freediving training sesh in the Blue Hole :)

Fun day coaching these two lads!! Josh's last day and Oliver's first day was awesome full day starting with Sodarshan & Zazen meditation, diaphragmatic stretching, chest stretching with and without the back rack, then some excellent full-body stretches specifically for freediving (spinal twists, posterior chain stretches, etc), then a nice long freediving session at the Blue Hole working on relaxation (before and during the dive), recovery breathing, free-immersion technique, duckdives & constant weight technique then chilled out taxi ride back home :D

Was great coaching Adrien and applying the methods from F.L Freediving Coaching & Training System. After fine-tuning his freefall position and free-immersion technique, landing new PB’s in the process, he was ready to start learning and applying mouthfill equalization, a fast learner dropping down to -28 meters in his first ever mouthfill in-water sesh! Way to go Adrien 👏 For sure you def got a lot more in you 💪
