Apnea Academy freediving courses are designed to capture the essence of freediving, allowing you to appreciate the quality of life in a timeless environment. Not only will you be given the necessary tools to become a better freediver, but each course provides a vacation experience, where you can leave your worries behind and discover a place in the water where nothing else matters more than self enjoyment.
Courses provide step-by-step support to anyone interested in discovering the underwater in freediving or anyone looking to improve their freediving technique, mental focus and breathing and relaxation techniques. Starting from the first approach, freediving with the Apnea Discovery course (this course differs from a standard snorkeling course, covering the techniques of relaxation and breathing), up to Apnea Academy Assistant Instructor, where one can learn to manage a class of freediving students and get certified to teach their own Apnea Discovery classes, I'll help you at every stage to identify your limits to dive safely underwater while still maintaining the unsurpassed feeling provided by free-diving.
To make the development of the diving techniques more enjoyable and effective for YOU, Apnea Academy freediving courses utilize a multimedia teaching approach, which feature presentations rich with videos, photos, demonstrations and various exercises. Technical sessions are done in the swimming pool and in open waters, and are video recorded to facilitate technical improvements. The official Manual of Freediving, slides, didactic videos, final test and scoring have all been prepared to provide a specific sequence of subjects and helping to acquire the knowledge offered by the learning material.
Each course consists of theoretical lessons, swimming pool training, relaxation and breathing techniques and open water sessions. Upon completion of the course, if all course requirements are met an Apnea Academy certification will be issued.
Apnea Discovery is addressed to whoever wants to test the underwater free-diving with minimum equipment, still learning relaxation and breathing techniques and to “look inside himself” searching for the wellness provided by free-diving and to discover, in harmony with the environment the marvellous underwater world, made of lights and colors nowhere else found.
